INDIVIDUAL LESSONS
The FMFC offers the opportunity for students to take individual lessons.
This type of one-on-one instruction with a professional fencing coach is geared toward the fencer that is looking to improve quickly.
The FMFC highly recommends at least one individual lesson per week for any fencer who has completed the introduction to fencing class.
The prices are as follows:
IL fee (one time per semester) | $15
1 Semester (3 months) - one class/week | $130+$15(one time per semester)= $145
1 Semester (3 months) - two classes/week | $310+$15(one time per semester)= $325
1 Month - one class/week | $60+$15 (one time per semester)= $75
1 Month - two classes/week | $120+$15(one time per semester)= $135
Single random lesson | $20+$15 (one time per semester)= $35 |
Individual lessons will consist of an average of 20 minutes of instruction, but this is not a fixed amount of time. Please understand that the coaches of the FMFC are experienced professionals in the sport, and the length of a lesson will vary depending on the attention span, age, skill, and individual needs of the student on that day.
Please understand that you are not paying for actual minutes given in a lesson. Rather, you are contracting for a service that consists of having a coach working with you/student to meet your/student's goals. Lessons are catered to the individual students and will be personalized depending on a variety of factors: upcoming tournaments, personal experience, and the student's level of energy that day, etc.
FMFC coaches are instructed to average 15-20 minutes of instruction per lesson, but this may vary from student to student and from day to day. We understand that beginner fencers or young fencers may not be able to have the strength/focus or other factors to keep up with some lessons at the beginning. Please be patient. Coaches will increase the load of the lessons progressively and therefore the length of the lessons as well. Your student is our priority and we work hard to make this a memorable experience for him/her.
