For our youngest fencers, ages 9 to 12, we at the Fargo-Moorhead Fencing Club have a new and exciting Musketeer program. Along with basic fencing skills like footwork and bladework, we play games that develop coordination, reflexes, flexibility, self-reliance, mental agility, balance, speed, and sportsmanship. This program will introduce our young fencers to the fencing weapons and teach proper fencing techniques using them.
The Musketeer program is organized to prepare the student to attend the school program when he/she becomes 12 years old.
In addition to coaching, the FMFC will provide all the gear necessary for students to participate up to competition level. That way there is not a large expenditure on gear for students wanting to try out the sport.
